Why Wellness Counseling?
Wellness Counseling involves a paradigm shift from the pathology intervention model of mental health counseling. The emphasis shifts from evaluating & diagnosing to a prevention & intervention model, that involves treating psychological problems by incorportating a more mindful and holistic way of life and imparting knowledge of overall good health in areas such as physical, social/spiritual as well as focusing on psychological/mental and emotional well being.
My purpose at Dolph Counseling & Wellness, LLC is to assist clients to maximize their quality of life by discarding poor mental health habits and adopting healthy day to day practices. By empowering my clients to adopt the strength to be more present and aware of their emotions, cognitions and feelings.
Through the knowledge obtained through my certification training in becoming a Certified Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider, I help clients to focus less on labels and diagnosis and more on how they can become a better version of themselves through changes in their lifestyle practices.
